I got some messages from Thiago(a Brazilian net friend, we met on a language-learning social app named Tandem). He cooked some meat buns made of shredded pork and sent me some photos of them. I have to say these buns look great and like real Chinese buns. I think he has mastered the technique of making buns. He told me about a classical dish from Brazilian, it is called feijoada, just like ah, umm, “飞较啊达”, and it’s made of pork including regular meat and tail, ears, etc. I’m interested in that dish because our Chinese, especially Sichuan people love this food material and we often cooked pig’s tail ears as snacks or dishes that go with wine. In general, Thiago is funny and enthusiastic. I learned a few Portuguese words and phrases, but it was difficult for me.
Besides, I also met Tim on Tandem (He is a programmer and a team manager in a startup). I talked to Tim about some interesting topics such as films, series, holidays, and lifestyle. He told me that British people have more public holidays than us and some of them are related to religion, that is interesting because I haven’t found this difference between China and the UK(or Euro).
Whereas we have a different time zone, so sometimes we can not talk in real-time. I really appreciate
their patience and practice conversations with me.
